In all truth, there were so many questions Thomas had about Seraph's transition. But considering the setting they were currently in, and how unprepared for this the both of them were, it was for the better that Thomas would ask his brother what he wanted to ask in a more comfortable setting. A setting where he could also comfortably answer Seraph's questions about what he'd been doing for six years, and how he got to Veria.
Thomas couldn't help but chuckle a little at what Seraph had to say. In all truth, he wasn't freaked out by the fact that he was being stalked, at least not by Seraph. The idea that his family was following him had been something he had long since gotten used to, with their older sister having been hounding him for a good six years, before the two finally reunited. If anything, he felt guilty that he didn't notice before this, and that he didn't get to talk to twin brother earlier.
"I don't know what to tell you about what's socially acceptable, but this means that the gang's all here. Well, almost...", Thomas said to his brother with a slight grin, referring to the fact that their uncle and aunt were still in Kalos. "I suppose you know that we've set up an estate here in Faraday, where me, Andie, and Elena are currently residing. Of course, there's plenty of room, should you want to join us.", Thomas offered his brother.
As for the part about Seraph being too anxious about Thomas' reaction to this revelation, Thomas couldn't really judge him on that.

That was more an 'oh thank Arceus' moment, heh. He still felt kind of awkward about it, but so long as Thomas wasn't creeped out by knowing he'd been watching him, Seraph wouldn't dwell on it either.
He nodded when Thomas asked if he knew about the estate, but at the offer... "Ah... Maybe someday, but... I'd wanna talk to everyone individually for a bit before just... yeah, heh." He'd only had a roommate twice, both shortly after moving to Johto and both nice girls who mostly kept to themselves, aside from one occasionally being too loud with friends she brought home, but even that was rare enough that he hadn't minded too much. But he'd heard stories from friends now and then about really stressful cohabiting situations and.. yeah he'd prefer not to feel stuck heh.
"Would.. rather wait to talk to them in general, too. Just.. one step at a time, ya know?"
He stared off vacantly a moment before a thought brought a grin to his face and he looked back to Thomas. "Anyway, the current step is kinda the best step~ So I'm not too eager to move just yet." He chuckled slightly. Was it in poor taste to tell one sibling they were your favorite? Eh, this was probably common knowledge anyway even with Tommy's absence.
"Ah... Speaking of, were you headed anywhere specific? Like am I keeping you, or.. maybe wanna go somewhere and chat? My apartment or we could grab some food or... whatever, if you have time."

Thomas listened as his brother declined the offer to move in with him, at least for the time being. He would nod in response to the reason provided, having taken things slowly himself when he had the chance to interact with family. Though if anything, family came crashing back into his life. The trainer couldn't help but wonder if it would be the same for Seraph, considering that this was one such moment for the both of them.
"I understand.", Thomas would tell him with a nod.
Thomas would shrug in response to his brother's question. "Actually, I'm just taking a walk myself. If you wanted, I know of a few good places around here, whether you wanted to sit down, or take it to your apartment. I'm fine either way.", Thomas would tell Seraph.

"Yeah??" --Er. A light tinge of color hit Seraph's face as he flashed a cheesy smile. That probably sounded a bit too excited, huh? Hard to help it, though; he'd been looking forward to this for so long. "I was on my way to grab groceries myself, but it can wait. Probably a good idea to grab some fast food on the way though~" Maybe he'd grab enough extra for tonight and tomorrow morning so he could put off shopping a bit longer, eheh.
He'd ask for Thomas's recommendations for places between here and there, then insist on paying for both of them (although if Thomas protested more than once Seraph would give in and let him buy his own). After a pretty uneventful grabbing of food, Seraph led him back to his apartment.
It was a pretty small place-- one bedroom, one bathroom, and a medium-ish living room with a kitchenette area and washing machine and dryer tucked into one nook. While sparsely decorated, though, what was there was both pretty nice and practical, and everything was pretty clean and well-organized, aside from a few stray clothes and a blanket strewn across the couch. "Ah-- sorry, let me just..." He gathered those all up and tossed into his room before shutting the door and flopping down on the couch.
"So how's life been for you~?" he asked, starting to dig through his food bag.

As Thomas and Seraph were heading back to the latter's apartment, Thomas would give his twin the recommendations he spoke of earlier as they approached. While Thomas was a bit reluctant to Seraph paying for his lunch as well, he wouldn't argue with his brother, offering to pay for their lunch the next time. Perhaps it was due to the circumstances of their separation that he felt bad about Seraph paying for his meal, or perhaps it was a slight matter of pride on his part, but he could only hope that Seraph would allow him to pay him back for this in some capacity.
The first place was a burger joint. While it was a bit on the pricey side, and their was a wait because the meat was cooked fresh, the quality was great for a carryout place. The second place specialized in Unovan pizza, and other such dishes. While there would be a wait on the food to cook, it too was of good quality, but it was for the best that one call ahead before going in. The third place dealt in food from the Orre region, where it not only came at a good price, but that ingredients could be selected. And aside from the line, because they regularly cycled out their ingredients, their wasn't much of a wait on the food at all.
Settling on the Orre place, Thomas and Seraph would make their order. Having requested separate bags for the each of them, the two of them would make their way back to Seraph's apartment. As Thomas looked around, he would mentally note the similarities to his old apartment in Sinclair City, before Andie found him. He would take a seat with his brother.
"In short, complicated as all hell.", Thomas would tell his brother in response to how his life was.
"If you'd like details, any place you'd like me to start?", he'd ask Seraph.

Seraph scooted a bit to one side to give Thomas more room, and after securing one soft taco set his bag and drink down on the coffee table. As Thomas started to answer, he took a bite, but when he asked where to start, Seraph suddenly found it harder to swallow.
He managed to choke the bite down, but it was harder to say the same for the feelings that were welling up. Where to start? There was... so much. So much he'd missed- they'd missed.
All right, breathe Seraph. He was very hungry, so... Forcing a weak smile back on, he asked, "Maybe start with some of the high points? Like... some of your favorite Pokemon you've trained, cool stuff you've done with Interpol, any friends you've made--?" The thought of Thomas having a girlfriend suddenly occurred and felt weirdly unpleasant-- or a boyfriend?? Ha... Yeah Seraph suddenly realized he didn't even know Thomas's orientation or any myriad of super basic details about him anymore even with having tried to keep tabs on him the past few months. Man this was more depressing than it should be.
"...Maybe stuff like hat while we eat?" he finished weakly. Or... "I guess it's hard to eat and talk actually huh.." This was clearly his best and most well thought out plan, heh. "Mm... Maybe you could pick something to share and then I can try to share something similar. Like, swapping a work story for a work story or that kind of thing?" ... As much as his stomach had gone a bit queasy again, that taco was tasty and he was so hungry, nomming on it a bit more now.

Thomas couldn't help but grin at the suggestion of his favorite Pokemon that he's trained. In truth, that one was borderline-impossible for him, considering that at this point, he had trained several Pokemon, all of them he had come to love deeply, all of them being as good as family to him. As for any Interpol stories, aside from some field missions, Interpol was just office work, which was boring to him.
Thomas chuckled as his brother mentioned how hard it was to eat and talk at the same time. But when they settled on swapping stories, Thomas nodded. "Would starting off with the job that pretty much landed me in Interpol suffice, or have you heard that one before?", Thomas asked his brother.
Once he got confirmation that he hadn't, Thomas would continue. "So for a quick bit of background, after I was finished with my training, I made a living moonlighting as a mercenary, while living in Sinclair City. It was after Elena had discovered that I was in the Region that I retired it. That was, until the daughter of one of Antoine's employees was kidnapped by some people looking to ransom her off for some company tech. I decided to take this one last job, rescuing her, and taking out the pricks that abducted her. Interpol was also on their trail, and long story short: me and the agent kinda ended up working together, if you could call it that. While she got the hostage, I took out the goons. And after a short session of twenty questions, her superior offers me a job with Interpol.", he would tell him.
"What has Ranger work been throwing at you?", Thomas asked his brother with a grin.

Seraph felt like Mom or Dad had probably given him some really abridged version of stuff Tommy had been doing once he got back in touch with the family, but if there'd been any details he couldn't place them and he definitely wanted to hear things from Thomas directly versus the 'Thomas was caught up with some shady folks for a while but he's on the right side of the law now' version others had given.
Once the story started, though, it took until the word 'mercenary' for Seraph to once again have trouble finding his appetite. Kidnapping, ransom? Taking out the pricks that did it? Seraph hoped that meant putting them behind bars, but he was too afraid of confirming the alternative to ask. Eventually, he tried to force a vaguely laughing sound that just sort of came out as uncomfortable. "Man if that's your light upbeat dinner conversation I'm not sure if I should ask about the gritty stuff," he 'teased', except he was kind of serious. And to just kind of... skim over that like it was no big deal?
"I'm... not really sure how to follow that," he admitted. "Uh..." Well... Kidnapping was on the brain now so...
"Back in Johto there was this case where a wealthier older woman's Glameow was kidnapped. And the local cops were hesitant to get involved beyond helping her with some lost Pokemon posters since... you know, he was a cat and all. They figured he probably just wandered off but she swore he'd never. So eventually she came to us and Mom and I--" He stopped, face flushing a bit. "Er.. I had this one coworker who a few of us jokingly decided was Ranger Mom and it kind of stuck, heh..." He ruffled his hair, and stopped to take a bite to give himself a moment to gather his thoughts.
"But... sorry, so... She and I looked into it and found out a lot of cats had been disappearing lately, and a lot of the owners had the same assumptions at first about just wandering off but none of them were coming home. And some of the local kids started saying they were seeing less strays around when they were looking to catch, too. So eventually after almost two months of digging around on this and doing other jobs and balancing that with still having my model gig back then we finally found this like... house? Old manor? Whatever. Where some batshit crazy old lady had I guess just... decided she was gonna be the craziest cat lady of them all and had like, at least a hundred cats she was holding captive. None of them being taken care of properly." He frowned deeply, deciding it best not to get into the details over dinner...
"We called in the cops to come deal with her while we got as many cats fed and treated as we could and... contacted the owners of the ones that didn't make it out... Never did find out just what the hell her deal was. But..." He sighed. "Sometimes I really worry what would have happened if that one lady hadn't been so pushy that someone look for her Glameow, or if we had brushed her off like everyone else, ya know...?"

As Thomas regaled his brother with his first story, he could practically sense the discomfort as he mentioned that it was mercenary work. Hell, the fact that he referred to dealing with the kidnappers as 'taking them out' didn't help matters. He couldn't help but wonder if 'neutralizing' would've made that better, or worse.
"Just to clarify, by 'taking them out', I meant incapacitating them.", he would hurriedly tell his brother. And indeed, if Seraph were to look into this for himself, he would find that all of the men responsible for kidnapping the teenage girl were taken in alive, if roughed up.
Thomas would then listen on in silence as his brother told him about the case of the missing Glameow. When Seraph mentioned that the police just brushed it off as the cat wandering off on his own for a bit, Thomas didn't look surprised in the slightest, as if this was something he'd expect from most law enforcement. And as the details came up, Thomas could feel something washing over him.
"So with all these cases of cats, both wild and documented, disappearing from the area, and the Glameow having been missing for two months since the owner called it in, the Police continued to shrug it off, until you two called it in?", Thomas would begin. "I'm honestly afraid to ask how the police handled that situation once you called it in.", he continued, not even bothering to hide his contempt at this point.
"Sucks for the ones that didn't make it, and their trainers.", he would remark with a solemn tone. "But I'm glad you and the other Rangers didn't brush her off.", he continued. "Those two months for the woman must've been hell, let alone for the rest of the people who had their companions taken by the old lady.", he mused.
"Well, how about something a bit more... lighthearted?", he started out. "After an arrest in Caravella in my first year, I was told to reach out to someone for recruitment, since I was in the area. Of course, during this arrest, my mask got stuck to my face, and I had no time to get it properly removed, so I had to deal with recruiting someone with my mask...", he started, fishing his phone out of his pocket, before showing her a picture of the mask he used to wear, which looked akin to a porcelain slap covering his face, something he carried over from his mercenary days before retiring it for an eyepiece after it took some serious damage.
"So while the recruit himself took it surprisingly well, his fiance was another story....", he stated with a cringe. "Upon seeing me, she started freaking out about aliens, came at me with a frying pan, and almost peppered me full of throwing needles.", he continued. "Thankfully, the recruit stepped in, and talked her down. We eventually got back to Faraday, where he was officially recruited as one of our own.", he finished.

The Police continued to shrug it off, until you two called it in? "I mean..." Thomas went on before Seraph could really respond.
"They did fine getting her put away from what I saw, and I can't blame them too much. We only noticed the trend because we were actively looking into it. Most folks individually just assume like, their cats were being cats, they didn't talk to other folks to realize they had cats missing at the same time." That and by the time they were getting close the cops had started paying a bit more attention to the possibility of foul play, just not enough to get directly involved when Rangers were already investigating and... eh.
Thomas' next story was.... certainly interesting, and a bit easier to eat while listening to...
But while he felt like it was supposed to get a chuckle or something he just kind of... stared blankly (pun not realized). At the end, he forced one corner of his mouth up a moment. "..Ya know, I don't really... have all the context for stuff like this, huh..." He crinkled the now empty wrapper from his first taco and tossed it in the bag. "I'm not.. really sure what's up with the mask in the first place."
Rather than take another taco out, he decided he was sated enough to wait and eat the rest later, and leaned against the back of the couch, arms loosely crossed with a hand rubbing one arm. "We missed.... so much, huh..." I don't know you at all, do I...
