How many years had it been since she was out in the Faraday ruins? Kristina couldn’t even remember the last time she’d been there, yet in her mind’s sense, she remembered the sights of the floating islands, the smell of earth that never seemed to shake from the area, the touch of stone that scraped along her hand as she reached out to it on the back of her father’s Charizard. She had to have been very young, very small—enough to where coming there now felt more like nostalgia than anything else. It felt nice.
Alongside her, a peaceful looking Mudbray and a fidgety Luxio made their way as well. Whereas a good deal of her Pokemon were for show, at least these two were focused more on keeping her safe in these wilder areas. They walked along roughly in silence for the most part. Yellow eyes remained raised upwards, reflecting the large floating islands as they moved under them. Too bad she didn’t have a strong enough flying type to carry her up to the islands. Mmmmm maybe she’d invest in a ride Pokemon before she came here again.
Her Luxio growled, and Kris’s vision dropped again. Someone was near, from behind she couldn’t tell exactly what it was but— That apparently wasn’t what was wrong. Shoot the rock! From above, a piece of one of the islands had come loose and was falling now. “Watch out!” she squeaked.

    Mounaineering & MiningThe very idea of this was somehow both alluring and repulsing; apparently, it was very common for Trainers of this region to dig for treasure. There was a variety of places to do it, apparently, with each area having different results. Interesting, to say the least, but to dig in the ground? Getting filthy, dirt getting under her fingernails, sweat caking her hair to her forehead... the very idea made her shudder... but... that was the sort of thing her parents would think about. The idea of being filthy was disgusting to her, but it was even more disgusting to think, to know that that was the sort of thing her parents would have thought. The very idea annoyed her, so she pressed on, carrying a ‘Digging Pack’ that some old retiree was happy to give her. It was so heavy, but she forced down those thoughts just as a middle finger to the ghost of her parents. She had to admit, she had heard about Faraday’s floating mountains, but she didn’t believe them. Right in front of her eyes, however, was the very same. She was wearing a pair of dark purple jeans and a short-sleeved black shirt with a stylized Espeon print. She was used to the warmth, but even so, the lighter purple hoodie was resting around her waist, the Digging Pack faded with age and resting over her shoulder. She was staring up at the floating island, admiring it, honestly, until she got an alert on her PokéGear. It floated off of a belt loop, hovering in front of her as she stared at the notification. Suddenly, her eyes went wide. There was a sudden tingling sensation in her head, right at the top of her skull. The word ‘what’ echoed through her mind in surprise as she looked up just in time for a rock to suddenly detach from the island above her. “SHIT!” She ran to the side, far before the rock was anywhere near her, getting a few dozen feet away before the rock slammed into the ground, whirling to the fallen rock as soon as her mind stopped tingling, staring at it for a moment before smirking, silently thanking her danger sense before hoisting her pack back over her shoulder, moving along, not having heard the worried cry for her. |

It seemed the person about to be impaled was already ahead of her. The way in which she moved and was able to get away from the crashing rock had Kris deflating some. Oh, thank goodness. And yet, the person didn’t even seem to notice her? Or? Had they not heard her? Yellow eyes flickered up towards the rocks before dropping again. She hesitated only once before starting to run after the person. “Are you alright?” she called. Even if she had seen it with her own eyes, Kris wasn’t entirely sure she believed it.
Her Luxio huffed softly, not inclined to get involved with others. However, Kris was just like that at the end of the day. Rolling his eyes a bit, he leapt after her running along. The Mudbray seemed much less … there and sort of just turned and started after them at his own pace. He’d get there~ No need to rush or anything~
“Did you hear me?” Kris called again once she was closer.

Mounaineering & MiningKazia couldn’t help but thing to one of the biggest critiques of this lifestyle and how she just demonstrated a complete lack of worry from that end. How was being a trainer supposed to be dangerous when she had the ability to sense when something or someone was going to hurt her? The fact that it was still a worry was amusing and annoying at the same time. Honestly, it went so far as to infuriate her, the pinkette glaring and growling in front of her as she stuffed her PokéGear back in her pocket, at least until she heard someone calling. She stopped, blinked, and looked around, wondering if someone was calling someone, then looked behind her when she realized that there wasn’t anyone else around. “Huh?” She turned slowly as a girl ran up to her, staring at her in confusion. Kazia’s eyes shifted to the two Pokémon that the girl had, but she didn’t recognize them, her eyes falling back to the girl as she put a hand on her hip, speaking with a slight derisive tone, “Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?”

Slowing and taking a couple deep breaths as she stopped completely, Kris looked up at Kaiza thereafter. “I.. the rocks were – the” Ok, one slow big breathe here yes. There we go. Goodness she really needed to get back into shape, but well she’d worry about that later. “It looked like it was about to hit you so I just— wanted to make sure you weren’t hurt or anything.” From the looks of her up close, the girl before her was untouched? Unscathed? Didn’t even looked fazed. As Kris reconsidered what she’d said, it felt like she hadn’t even noticed there was a problem at all.
“I… I guess you are ok— sorry I…. My name’s Kris!” she suddenly beamed giving a small curtsies of her lilac, frilly skirt. The coolness of the near pastel color worked well enough with the blue blouse that she chose to wear and did even more for her pale lilac hair. “This is Prince and T.” The Mudbray gave a slow nod and a slower noise. The Luxio stomped his feet a bit in what one could guess was some kind of greeting or another.

Meeting KaziaKazia scoffed at the girl’s worry, crossing her arms and throwing her head aside, closing her eyes callously. “Of course I’m fine, don’t you know wh-“ She opened her eyes in realization, grimacing a moment before glaring off into the distance, shaking her head. “No, you wouldn’t, would you? Whatever.” She put her hand on her hip, almost literally looking down her nose at Kris as she introduced herself. It was annoying, honestly, that she just came out of nowhere and talked to her... but that was the sort of thing trainers did, right? She could forgive it this time, she supposed... her caretaker did the same sort of thing. “Introductions, huh? Alright. I’m Kazia G-...Just Kazia.” Kazia caught herself from saying her full name, a name that she didn’t even have anymore... or want for that matter. The mistake incensed her, making her grit her teeth in a momentary anger, but almost as soon as it arose, she put it back down. It was her problem, not Kris’, and besides, that was her old life. She kept her eyes narrowed on Kris, her anger dissipated – mostly – but certainly not her moodiness. “So what are you supposed to be? One of those Ranger people that protects Trainers from dying around here?”

Light yellow eyes blinked slowly clearly not realizing whoever this was before them. Am I supposed to kno—?
When the girl retracted the statement, Kris found herself reaching back to run a few fingers through locks of her lilac hair. Kris was … very aware of the thoughts rolling off the other girl. The way she was judging or perhaps... no judging was a pretty good word for it, really. It was something she was used to, however, and could easily smile passed. It was fine? Yeah.
As the girl gave her name, Kris committed it to memory rather quickly. What put to memory more naturally, however, were still more negative thoughts rolling into her head. Someone trying to get away from an old life? That…. Was almost kind of sad heh. The question, however, had her blinking. Did she… really look like a ranger? Short, petite, in a skirt. Perhaps her Pokemon looked the part considering their sturdiness and strength but… “I’m— ah no I’m just a passerby,” she answered with a small shake of head and a smile. “Well, kind of anyways. I’m just out seeing the ruins.” Another stray hair was folded neatly behind her ear. “I’ve heard there’s all kinds of treasure out here!”
Her Luxio seemed to think so too as he casually sniffed the ground and pawed it a couple of times.

Kazia raised an eyebrow in muddled surprise when the girl admitted she wasn’t a Ranger. Then again, neither was she, so it made sense that she could be a digger too. She nodded softly in reply, looking back up towards the floating island. “Yeah... I’ve heard trainers use places like these mountains and the Tunnels to mine themselves things to sell off, help fund their lifestyle and the like.”Exactly how they did that eluded her. She crossed her arms, resting an elbow in her palm as she rested her fingers on her chin, but her train of thought was quickly stopped by the sound of Luxio digging. It couldn’t be that simple... could it? “Are... is that how it goes? We just pick a spot, start digging, and hope? Is that it?”Before she could get an answer, the Pokémon she didn’t even know pulled something out of its hole, turning to face Kris and show off... something. Kazia looked at Kris, confused, but then something caught her eye, a glint in the hole. She blinked, raising an eyebrow, before the stone pulled itself out of the earth, floating over to her and hovering in front of her face. “This is what people try to find?” she said derisively, “Shiny rocks?” The stone started to brush itself off, invisible hands scratching off the dirt as she stared at it. She scoffed in annoyance. “Honestly, I’ve had more than enough jewelry.”(Claiming Z-Charm)

Yellow eyes raised up towards the floating islands above them, and Kris’s lips pressed together briefly. If only she had something strong enough to fly up there or perhaps teleport her there. Why Gothitelle of all Psychics was not capable of such feats, she’d never know. The sound of Thunder digging would draw her out of this thought, however. Yellow eyes flickered over questioningly. “He’s… got very good senses,” she ansered Kazia in a roundabout way. “He might have found something?” The Luxio certainly seemed very intent on whatever it was he had found. The Mudbray nearby swayed a bit and stomped his foot once. What it meant, however, was anyone’s guess.
As the Luxio pulled something out, however, Kris perked up a bit. “What’d you find?” she asked closing the distance with him and holding her hand out. As he dropped it into her hands, she folded it around carefully recognizing it as …. Mwah, was this a Mega Stone? She couldn’t actually tell up close. Either that or it was something akin to it maybe? A small shake of head was given, and she put it in her pocket for now.
Looking back to Kazia, however, Kris froze on seeing the item fished up from the ground move of its own accord. She… hadn’t seen any Pokemon with her or anything but— no there definitely wasn’t one? The question had her shaking her head. “Some of these things are artifacts…” she answered. “From different eras and civilizations..” She… was not an expert by any means, but she’d learned a lot while in Hoenn. “Some items are even said to be connected to Pokemon in different ways…”
Oh huh…. Her Luxio was digging again.

Poor Thunder would not find another item. He thought he had but… Huffing a bit, the Luxio stood up and started sniffing around again. Kris’s eyes shifted towards him as he did so, and as he started to wander a bit, she followed him. The Mudbray looked at Kazia before uttering a strange noise before he hopped along and trotted happily after Kris.
When the Luxio stopped, however, Kris frowned. “I don’t think you can claw through that, T,” she commented folding her arms in front of herself and staring at the lump solid rock before them. The Luxio huffed and formed Darkness in his claws. A sharp Night Slash would smash the rocks, and as he turned back, the cat was looking a bit too pleased.
Kris blinked slowly on seeing what was laid barren there. “Evolution stones?” Actually, one of those was a Mega Evolution stone. Her hand dropped to fish it out, and she looked over it carefully. She had one already but what a find, right? “These are really special…” She frowned looking back towards Kazia. “Do you know what these are?” She had guessed not for some reason or another, but it was bad to just assume things.

“Artifacts? From different eras? Connected to Pokémon?” Kazia turned her eye to the stone, idly turning it with her mind to watch it catch the light as she parroted Kris. If she was right about that, then a museum might pay some money for it. Money would be nice, since she was officially out. On the other hand... as she stared at the white stone... she got a strange feeling from it. It wasn’t triggering her danger sense, but it felt faintly similar... she couldn’t place it, but she couldn’t deny it either... something about this stone felt important. Besides that... it was pretty. As much as she hated to admit it, she didn’t mind jewelry as much as other things. A crash suddenly caught her attention, making her whirl to the source, glaring in panic, flinching away from the source even as a Luxury Ball suddenly shot out to float next to her head. Her startle was thankfully, unfounded, and it replaced by annoyance, a sudden urge to strangle Kris for scaring her like that welling up inside her. Kazia pushed that down when Kris pulled out some curious stones. She got the same sort of feeling from these ones, something she couldn’t place, but couldn’t deny – in fact, it was so weird how they felt, it almost felt like they were triggering her danger sense, but not in a way that made her feel like it was dangerous. As far as she could tell, something about her abilities was telling her to take them... and there was no reason not to, when they wanted her to. She snorted softly, blowing out the rest of her annoyance as she spotted a particularly beautiful stone, a rainbow one, pulling it out of the ground, still without moving even slightly, pulling it to float in front of her face, brushing it off with an invisible hand while the other two objects continued to float around her. “Look like evolution stones. Not any evolution stone I’ve ever seen before.”Kazia’s eyebrow raised in thought. Maybe it was some sort of valuable mutation? (OOC: Claiming the Keystone.)

Even though Kris was not facing Kazia and would not see her flinch and glare, she would hear the sudden rush of surface thoughts that flooded the area. Gold eyes flickered back, and Kris frowned softly for a second or two. “I think some of these are Mega Evolution stones,” Kris answered, her hand sifting through them. Instead of grabbing one of those, however, she fished up something much more recognizable: a Dragon Scale.
“I don’t know much about Mega Evolution…” she stated standing up again. “But I’ve seen trainers on TV do it to increase their Pokemon’s powers. There’s some kind of secret art to it…” Kris frowned and shook her head. She wasn’t even entirely convinced that she wanted it for any of her Pokemon from what rumors about it had said. Still, for super trainers, it made sense to use? Ehhh. “Think I’ll just keep this for when my Horsea evolves…” She smiled showing off the Dragon Scale very briefly before pocketing it.
