Oh, heh. Yeah that made sense, he guessed. Orion shifted some, folding his arms behind his head as he walked and listened. A certain type of relationship with him- Wait- I do or do not have a dick now- "You-" He was… most definitely jumping to conclusions, but how could he not when it was phrased like that?
"You weren't sleeping with him were you?" That…. came out much more accusatory than Orion had been intending, but maybe he was just a little pissed. Some part of him argued he shouldn't be surprised and/or care, but the other part insisted that this was his baby cousin and- You were so fucking apathetic to him, you have no right to be like this. Ugh, yes yeah ok he knew that. Even when they first came to Veria, that was just how he was, but he'd fucking changed so of course he was going to be pissed.

Mia wasn't all that put off by the question, sure it was a bit of a loaded one depending how Orion felt about it, but she wasn't at all regretful about what they did, they had fun and Jazz always seemed to come out of it pretty satisfied so- "Yeah...I mean, if it helps, I had no idea he was connected to you or Nik. We didn't really talk about family stuff and crap so it was sort of...meet, watch a movie, dick about and then...have some fun." She shrugged and continued walking along without much shifting in her expression. "Like, we both knew full well it was just a bit of casual fun for us."

Orion's lips parted. Whether it was Mia's openness about this or seeming lack of remorse or any number of factors, he was… suddenly fine with it. Yeah, alright. Jazz was grown. Mia was grown. It was still weird, and he didn't want to think too much about it- but whatever. He'd done worse, and that No Room to Talk thought pretty much won the battle on those weirder more protective feelings. "Ah," was the briefest answer. "So long as you didn't yank his chain or anything," he filled in just a little. "He's basically my charge until he moves out, so I'd rather not see him or Nik hurt." Nik for… obvious reasons given they were housemates at the moment.

"Nah we knew what it was." Mia said pretty plainly. Least she was sure that was the case. Jazz tended to act like she was the bees knees but more in a friendly way. It wasn't like he ever showed up with flowers or anything...eh. Yeah. She was sure they were cool, especially if they were friends again now. "I mean I'm half sure he's like I was? Pretty much just...fuck it to love and all that crap? I dunno, I STILL don't understand why I love Vesta and Nik and I never loved the countless people before them." She shrugged and started to whistle a little as they finally reached the end of the mines, starting them on a path to a good bar.
At the comment of him being their charge, Mia perked up a bit. "Oh? Playing the protective older cousin eh?~"

Orion's lips pressed together as Mia spoke, and for a moment he mentally struggled not to voice the rebuttal coming to the forefront of his mind. Thankfully the residual darkness of the mine could keep that questionable at least until they got out again. By then, at least, he had something of a smirk on his face again.
"Hardly playing," he answered with a small snort. "I mean…." A small shrug was given at his own words. "I've kept after him for more than a couple of years now. We traveled for a while before coming to Veria, and even in Era, I ended up being his keeper for a while." He didn't realistically blame Luke since Luke had no actual authority over Jazz, but it was his promise to him that kept him watching over them. "He's… more of an annoying little brother than a cousin." He smirked a little at that vaguely aware that Mia also had a brother and could maybe kind of relate to what he meant.

Mia tipped her head back briefly, giving a wave to some of the miners walking in for a late shift or just coming off break before focusing back on Orion. "Oh? Jazz not er...got his parents to look out for him?" She was a little nervous talking about it, she knew some families weren't perfect but she hadn't heard much of it from Jazz so- "Guess not everyone can get out of Era...then again if you were the one looking out for him before then..."
She shrugged, knowing she knew too little to really comment and trying to lift the mood.
"Hey, 'least we got something in common with annoying little brothers...~"

Orion bit the inside of his mouth. If Jazz hadn't explained his situation to Mia, Orion wasn't sure he had the 'right' to, yet there he was saying it anyways, really. Guess not everyone can get out of Era- Ahhahaha. Least we got something in common with annoying little brothers. Yeah. A small smile came and went from Orion's features as he allowed his gaze to flick forward, drawing over the pathway as they walked. Mia really did know everyone in Liggs, huh? Heh.
Would Orion appreciate Jazz telling Mia in-depth things about their history without discretion? No. Orion would not in the least, but he knew for a fact Nik had already said some things. If… it helped maybe get her to understand him more, maybe that was better, heh. Maybe not. It could just as easily blow up in his face.
"Jazz's dad died at the start of the Eran war, and his mom got married some time after that. Long story short, he didn't take it well." Yellow eyes flickered to Mia, trying to gauge her expression and disposition before more was said. "Shit happened, and he ended up not wanting to go 'home', so we started traveling together for a while." He glanced forward again and shrugged weakly. "Can't really blame him for it given what was going on at the time, but if you want to know more you can ask him yourself." He smiled almost apologetically before shrugging again. "Veria's done us both some good, though."
