Slowly looking around the floating island, Kris bit her lip. I can do this… I can do this… Could she do this? She really hoped she could do this. A couple of shaky steps forward, and she was walking abet uneasily through the brush. Yellow eyes flickered form one thing to the next. "B-be sure to let me know if anything comes up?" she ask-ordered of the Xatu who followed along with her. The latter simply made a small salute which had her nodding back. "T-thanks-"

A rush of something, and a blade came flying forwards. Kris yelped falling backwards! Only- to see nothing there yet? Another vision? Yellow eyes flashed around cautiously. A wing grabbed her wrist, and Kris crouched again. R-right. There… there was something here then… Fishing out a Pokeball, she released a Fennekin out as well. "K-keep an eye out," was the whispered order. The Fennekin blinked a little but nodded. Alright? What was-

And now there it was. A Doublade came rushing in with a Sacred Sword. The Fennekin yipped but was just fast enough to avoid it. "Don't let it hit you! Flamethrower!" Kris squeak-ordered. The Doubalde was coming back around again, and the Fennekin leapt out of the way once more. Summoning up fire in his maw, the Fennekin retaliated. A stream of flames crashed hard into the Doublade fainting the pair of swords instantly. Kris exhaled weakly. G-goodness that was close. She…debated catching such a thing but actually vaguely had an idea for it, maybe. A Great Ball it was then.

The Fennekin yipped and growled again, however, causing Kris to look around once more. What was- Oh? A Slakoth was laying across a branch lazily. What a cutie! But she already had a good kitty Vigoroth, and unlike her obsessive Espurr horde, she didn't need a second one. But uh… She guessed this could be a good training opportunity too… "Flamethrower?" She ask-ordered. A stream of flames blasted the Slakoth off of its perch, and Kris immediately regretted it. Oops, well. Oh well.

Hmmm? What was at her feet? Bending down and fishing it up, Kris squinted. It… looked like a Mega Stone from TV, but she was still kind of unsure of those. Maybe someday she'd learn to use them.

As the Pokeball dinged in capture, Kris reclaimed it and set it in her purse for now. She really hoped she could either train or sell such a creature, hopefully the prior before the latter. Wandering onwards, she made sure to encourage her Fennekin onwards as well. She didn't want to get too far away from him. As they kept moving, however, another flash of something would hit Kris, and rather quickly she turned this time.

The Brozor that had been staring from far away looked alarmed at being noticed so suddenly. Kris, however, was very excited. This was one of the Pokemon she was looking for, in fact! Psychic and Steel and a beautiful bell when it finally evolved. "Ok, Fennekin!" she called. The lithe fox jumped forward once more. "Flamethrower!" A spew of fire rushed at the Bronzor, but as it hit the creature, the fire seemed to splay off rather easily. A special ability? It had Heat Proof then? Rather than Levitate? She frowned a bit but switched gears even as it whipped up a Safeguard to prevent status damage thereafter.

"Keep it distracted, Flame Charge!" The Fennekin was quick to comply while Kris dug in her bag for a different Pokeball. The Bronzor, meanwhile, used a Feint Attack to dodge the charging fire and whipped sideways, hitting the Fennekin and sending him crashing into a tree. He was not a weak creature by any means even if the human had caught him off guard with whatever ability she seemed to possess.

Kris, meanwhile, had a plan. Releasing a Mudbray, she called out. "After the Bronzor, High Horsepower!" The Mudbray leapt upwards into the air, coming at the Bronzor had and fast. The Bronzor yelped as it was smashed into the ground by such fierce hoves and immediately fainted right after. Kris preened, proud of her capacity to remember details regarding abilities and Typing. Fishing out a Pokeball, she tossed it at the Bronzor then. Before that, however, her pesky Fennekin seemed to have started to recover only to find something interesting in the brush. Coming back with a gold Nugget in his maw, he hopped right over to Kris again. She blinked, bent down, and took the item. "Oh? Thank you."

As those words were spoke, a light burst from the Fennekin. Kris's eyes widened considerably as the fox enlarged and stood upwards. As the light broke, and a Braixen brushed back some ear tuff with a paw, Kris was squeaking. "You did it! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you so much!" She may or may not have been tearing up as she hugged around the Braixen. The fox blushed, clearly flustered by his human's adoration. As she eased up, Kris smiled warmly before slowly reaching to scratch between his ears. Ah yes, this was better, and the Braixen would lean into that for a moment or two before she eased up again. "Let's keep looking!" Right, right. Onwards then.

The Mudbray swayed a bit but was quick to follow after his compatriots. Who knew where they would end up, heh. Seemed they were going 'up' at least from the steepness of this rocky surface. Hmmm, he could feel something in this strange earth but had no idea what it was. Maybe they would find out soon enough- Oh wait. That was hm??? Scratching the ground, he squinted a bit before bending down to pick it up. In his maw, a Keystone now rested. Kris wouldn't notice it immediately, but he would move to set it in her bag for later.

They would sift through the area before coming upon the ruins of an old house. Kris hesitated on entering, unsure of what she saw or felt, but…. It was worth a look, or so she told herself a couple of times as she went in. The Braixen was more worried about the structure than anything, so it was left to the Mudbray to notice the Litwick on the counter. Hm? Oh no. Nope. That thing was a menace, and he was not having it. A quick hard and fast High Horsepower would have him slamming the counter and fainting the Litwick. Kris jolted from her assessment of the room and looked over confused. O-oh? That was… one of those creepy candle things, wasn't it? She was certainly finding a lot of ghosts here, as she realized. Maybe… maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to start collecting them? Fishing out a Pokeball, she tossed it at the Litwick for now.

They moved on through the ruins. One of the rooms was completely ripped apart. Not even the walls stood there anymore. However, in the center of it a Baltoy seemingly balanced on a nugget of gold. At first Kris found it hard to believe. What was she even looking at? However, as the creature turned around and stared, she backed up instinctively. This was its territory, clearly. The Braixen by her side growled, but Kris's hand raised up to stop him. The Mudbray swayed thoughtfully. Kris gulped and slowly stepped forward.

Oh shoot- that was Ancient Power coming at her. The Braixen hissed and Flame Charged forward knocking it away with a burst of power. Kris squeaked but understood. "Hang on," was all she ordered before a different Pokeball was pulled from her bag. A Marshtomp burst forth and swayed a little assuredly. The Baltoy swayed even more at that. Kris gulped but gave the immediate order. "Muddy Water." A blast of water knocked the Baltoy off its toy and sent it crashing into the wall, fainted. Kris exhaled weakly and wandered over to pick up the strange piece. A Big Nugget was worth quite a bit. Maybe it could even fund her next couple of dresses if she was careful. She didn't have to, of course, but …. This was part of her 'earnings' wasn't it?

A strange noise had Kris jumping, and the Braxien whipped around right after. Another Slakoth? What was with these things? Growling low, the Braixen formed a Flamethrower and sent the Sloth crashing into the wall. There. No more of it.

Returning her Marshtomp and Braixen for now, Kris continued on abet more carefully now. When they found nothing more in a couple of the rooms, Kris turned to exist again alongside her faithful stee-EEP??? A shadowy hand had reached out from behind something to seize the girl, and a shriek escaped from Kris. She struggled even as the Cofagrigus revealed itself, and for as much as she prided herself with being able to stay calm a lot of the time, she was shaken far too much to grasp what to do.

An angry neigh escaped from her Mudbray, and without order, he went lunging at the coffin Pokemon with as much force as he could muster. A High Horsepower sent the Cofagrigus flying, and her ghostly would drop Kris to the ground rather hard. The Mudbray ran to his friend's side before looking rather harshly at the Cofagrigus who was straightening again. Ghostly hands moved in rapid succession, and a Power Split would weaken the strength of the horse some. Kris, meanwhile, was trying to get her bearings enough to even focus. Shaking her head, she gave the best order she could, and her Mudbray complied ramming into the Cofagrigus several more times with the earthen attack. When that wasn't enough, he tried for a Heavy Slam and sent the ghost crashing through a wall.

It turned out for all of her power and prowess, the Cofagrigus had no attacking moves. She could only reach and grab, and that in of itself only did a little damage here and there. She weakened herself accidentally using Guard Split, and the Mudbray and his human used it to his advantage to finally take her down. Shaken but not completely broken, Kris fished out an Ultra Ball and tossed it at the mummy Pokemon.

As the Pokeball finally dinged in capture, Kris collapsed back against a wall. She was shaking somewhat, vaguely aware of …. something…. that had transferred between her and the Cofagrigus, but whatever it was, it was both disconcerting and hard to shake. The Mudbray, meanwhile, turned and started towards her, pressing his nose up against her shoulder. She leaned in and hugged him quick, and in a burst of light, he evolved. A small donkey became a giant horse, and for a moment, Kris could hardly believe how their size comparison had changed. She squeaked a little, but with some reassuring nickers, she felt calm at least. This was still her friend, a very big friend, but still friend.

They left the building for good this time, and honestly Kris was ready to go home. She had seen more than she had expected to and been unnerved in ways she wasn't ready for. It was time to head back and maybe hole up in her house for an indefinite period of time, yes. She returned the Mudsdale, but before she could release the Xatu to take her home again, Kris became aware of something else that was staring at her. This one, however, had her eyes lighting up. A Solrock! A Psychic with a penchant for being made from space itself! How she didn't have one yet was a mystery to everyone ever.

Fishing out her Marshtomp's Pokeball again, she released her quickly and gave some very specific orders. The Marshtomp turned to the Solrock, and even as she received a Psychic to the face, a burst of Muddy Water went blasting at the Solrock. The latter hissed in clear pain kicking up a Stone Edge that cut through some of the water and also hit the Marshtomp. Kris grimaced, but as the Marshtomp assured her she was fine, she went on with orders yet again. "Scald!" Right, hot water to hit the hot rock. Still, as the Marshtomp sprayed it, the Solrock took the damage hard this time and flopped backwards. Kris would not let the opportunity pass. Her hand was whipping for a Pokeball and tossing it at the Solrock in turn. Stay…. Please stay… If only she could run into a Lunatone too right then.
