The Tides Carry
The Soft Songs of a Sirens Cry
The evening air was warmer than it had been since fall. It was a cool clear night, with the heady scent of ocean brine permeating the air. The soothing sound of the ocean waves lapping at the pier and the hulls of boats, created a rather gentle atmosphere for the ship. The large luxury ferry sat bobbing on the gentle waves docked at the pier. The white silver paint on the hull shimmered under the light of the full moon. The deck of the ferry was occupied by tables and chairs meant for guests to lounge on and enjoy their meal. Strings of glowing orbs hanging from lines, crisscrossed the deck creating a soft light that still let one see the stars.
It had been a few weeks since Gidget had first crossed paths with Shaun and spent a rather enjoyable evening watching movies with him and getting a bit intimate. She had rather regretted having to leave Shaun just as things were getting interesting, but she had promised him that they could meet back up as soon as possible. She hoped when they met she would have some amazing news for him. She hadn’t meant to wait so long but getting things in order for her new job had taken longer than she had thought it would. Now though, finally she had been able to set the date up a few days ago when things in her life finally calmed down a bit. Gidget had planned everything for tonight and was going to pay for the entire night as well, it was her way of apologizing for making poor Shaun wait so long and having to cut their first ‘date’ short. She hoped however that the date she had planned for tonight would make up for it.
Standing on the pier Gidget awaited Shaun’s arrival, her oceanic blue eyes scanned the crowd of couples making their way on board. She however stood to onside of the pier watching the people for one particular face. While she waited, she stood under a hanging light string that led to the gangplank. She had decided to leave her hair down, falling over her shoulders, though parted to her left side covering her left eye partially. She had chosen a long sleeve ocean blue dress that matched her eyes rather nicely and clung to her body like a second skin though it ended at her mid-thigh. Around her waist was a black belt that held a pouch on her right hip, with a line of Pokeballs on her left. She had opted not wear heels, instead choosing a pair of almost sapphire blue flats knowing her height could be intimidating.
On her right shoulder perched her sweet Chatot Ein, she sported a pretty blue sequined bow around her crest. She perched proudly on her trainer’s shoulder. Ein being the only Pokémon Gidget had actually brought with her other than a few in her Pokeballs, just in case.
As Gidget waited she stood stroking the chest feathers of her Chatot.
